KWAW ANSAH – Chairman

Mr. Kwaw Ansah attended the London Polytechnic, United Kingdom in 1963. Two years later in 1965, he earned a second Diploma in Dramatic Arts from New York, U.S.A. Furthermore, he understudied film production in R.K.O Studio Hollywood, Los Angeles, U.S.A.

His most enduring popular creative works include the award wining feature films, “Love Brewed in the African Pot”, “Heritage Africa” and documentary titled, “Cross Roads of People, Cross Roads of Trade”.

His works have won him several awards including the coveted “ETALON DE YENNEGA” Award and the UNESCO award for best Cultural Film for “Love Brewed in the Africa Pot”.

After serving on the Boards of several state organisations, Mr. Ansah is currently a member of the National Commission on Culture.  

 

PROF. ALEX TEYE QUARMYNE

Professor Quarmyne was the first Ghanaian Director of Television of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation and a former Chief Technical Adviser for UNESCO. He served in several countries including Zimbabwe, Kenya and Philippines where he co-ordinated media workshops. He has now established and is managing the Ghana Community Broadcasting Services, a registered non-profit organization authorised to operate radio Ada. He is also the founder of Africa Communication Trust, a communication and development consultancy.

 

BERIFI AFARI APENTENG (Managing Director)

Mr Apenteng has over 30 years experience in the media. He is a journalist and a lawyer. He started his working life as a news reporter and climbed through the ranks to become the Chief Executive of the leading media house in the country. He recently left Graphic Communications Group, the largest newspaper company in Ghana after six years as Managing Director. He has wide ranging experience in media management. He was for several years the head of the News and Current Affairs Department for GBC Television and later Director of Radio for the same organisation. He was also the General Manger for the first private television station in the country, TV3 Network, and Senior General Manager, GAMA Film Company.

 

MR. KWAKU D. BOADU

Mr. Boadu is a practising IT professional and entrepreneur, with speciality in IT infrastructure. He is the Chief Executive Arrow Network Systems, a data telecom company working with the manufacturers and direct foreign investors, Rascom S.Y.O. of the Czech Republic prior to his present job, he was the Chief Executive of Amalgamated Network Systems (AMS), he also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation from 2001 to 2003. His early year’s experiences were in VALCO and Kaiser Aluminium (USA) and Standard Chartered Bank. Mr. Boadu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

 

GYASIWA ABA PAINTSIL-ANSAH (MS.)

The current General Manager of Film Africa Ltd, the parent company of TV Africa, Gyasiwa holds Diploma in Theatre Arts from School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, Legon. She was previously the Co-ordinating Producer of Film Africa Ltd and has written; directed and produced a lot of plays and TV adverts. She is currently a Board Member of Film Africa Limited and Target Saatchi & Saatchi Limited, a sister company. 

 

MR. CHARLES EDEM GIDI

Mr. Charles Edem Gidi who is currently the Senior Manager, Corporate Development team and Head of Development Banking, Merchant Bank Ghana Limited begun his professional career as a  Financial Analyst for Strategic African Securities (SAS) in April 1996. In June 1997 he became the Manager, Finance and Accounts for Camelot Ghana Limited from where he became the Senior Financial Analyst of Unilateral Securities Trust Limited (USTL). In October 1999 he was appointed Deputy Investment Manager/Head of Financial Unit for Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT). Between November 2001 and August 2004 he was a Project Consultant for AMSCO. At African Management Services Company (AMSCO, a project facility of (IFC) he acted as Regional Manager and Executive Assistant to the C.E.O. from September 2004 to October 2005. Mr. Charles Edem Gidi also lectured at the Accra Polytechnic from September 1995 to 2002. He holds a Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast, Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Cape Coast, a Masters in Business Administration and he is a Professional Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.

 

MR. PAUL VICTOR OBENG

Currently, Mr. P. V. Obeng is the Chief Executive of OB Associates Limited. He is also the Principal/Executive Director of Ningo Salt Companies. By profession, Mr. P.V Obeng is a Mechanical Engineer. He served in the Public Sector from May 1982 to January 1992, acting in different roles including, Head of National Governmental Administration, Member; Executive Council of Republic of Ghana (the P.N.D. C.), Chairman of the Committee of P.N.D.C. Secretaries, Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs. He retired from Public Service in January 1997. Mr. P.V. Obeng is still associated with a number of boards including, Guiness Ghana Brewery Ltd., Ghana Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns foundation, Golden Development Holding Co. and Asante Kotoko Football Club.

 

MR. ALHASSAN ANDANI 

Born on the 24th of November 1960, Mr. Alhassan Andani holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Ghana, a Master’s Degree in Banking and Finance from FINAFRAKA, Mila, Italy, an International Management Certificate, INSEAD Fontainebleau, France. He has held various responsible positions in various banks in Ghana, including Deputy Managing Director and Director Extended Coverage Contents for Barclays Bank Ghana and South Africa respectively. He is currently the Managing Director of Stanbic Bank (Ghana) Limited.

 

Mr. HENRY MICHAEL EGHAN

Born on the 14th of March, 1936 is currently the Director of Provident Insurance Company Ltd. Mr. Eghan’s professional career began in 1958 when he worked with Barclays Bank DCO, Takoradi. In 1961, he joined the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation and after three (3) years there, he moved to the Volta River Authority from 1965 to 1966. He worked with the British Broadcasting Corporation between 1966 and 1970 before returning to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation where he worked till 1984. He was the Managing Director and a shareholder of Eghanson Company Ltd, Sundown and Sunrise Hotels from 1979 to 1998.

 

Mr. AYGYEKUM PATRICK KWADWO

Mr. Agyekum was born on the 4th of March 1957. He is a chartered Accountant and has an MBA from the GIMPA Graduate School. He worked through the ranks in several organisations and has been the Chief Finance Officer of Provident Insurance Company Ltd since July 1995. He serves on the Board of Directors of Leasafric Ghana Ltd., a major leasing company.
